.............legal
murder...
by Jeremiah T.
The newest addition to mankind
had been waiting nine months for this moment. He didn't know it
yet, but he had the potential to affect lives, be a leader, and
change the world. He could be a straight "A" student, a college
graduate, a success. But this would be later in life; right now
he was experiencing the sensation of air on his skin. He prepared
to take his first breath, fingers twitching in excitement; there
was a sharp blow on the back of the head, and then, darkness.
He fell limp on the operating table, damned from the start. He
was now an it- #37849-908 to be precise; a mere mess on the counter
needing to be swept in the plastic garbage sack. #37849-908 was
the victim of another legal murder.
The abortion rights activists go
out on a limb and say that they believe in the right to choose.
They are not for everyone's right to choose, but for the woman's
right to choose. The choice is life or death. The decision is
eternal, and, unfortunately, the person who is going to live or
die is the one who doesn't have a choice. What if the child was
capable of speaking at birth and we could ask them if they wanted
to die? Would they really say yes? Many people who support abortion
were born before the Roe vs. Wade decision was ever made. What
if their mothers had a choice and decided that it was too much
of a hassle to have and raise children? We would likely find that
most people would be against abortion if they were the ones who
would be potentially aborted.
In a legal abortion, nearly any
method of extermination can be used. You may suffocate the embryo,
puncture the back of the head, leave the child writhing in pain
after a salt injection, or just let it die in a spare room from
a lack of heat and nutrition. Suicide is considered a tragedy.
Euthanasia, or assistance suicide, is downright illegal. These
are major catastrophes, but the victim expresses a definite wish
to die. How much more of a loss is an abortion, where the child
is slaughtered with neither consent nor condemnation?
If one person killed another person,
he would be sentenced to life in prison and possibly death. If
one killed an elderly person, he would be sentenced life in prison
and possibly death. The same would apply to the murder of a child,
or even the murder of an unborn child, provided the mother wants
the child. If the mother does not want the child, no one would
necessarily be charged for killing her child. In fact, she can
hire someone to murder her child for a modest fee. All she needs
to do is to go to the local government funded child-killing center,
otherwise known as the friendly abortion clinic nearest you.
If you want to kill your child,
time can be a serious obstacle. For example, if you wait one year
until the murder, it is technically considered to be illegal
and you will be charged with manslaughter. This is also the case if
you wait six months, three days, or even seven hours from the
birth. This is because after a child is born, he is generally
accepted as a separate being, instead of a thing. However, has
the child really developed substantially enough in a few hours to
be regarded as something different than it was before birth?
Abortion is a truly hypocritical
right. To have the right to abort is to have the right to kill.
Are the scales not slanted if we say it is right to kill one organism,
but it is wrong to kill the same organism when it is older? Age
is not a qualifying prerequisite for the acceptability of a murder
by any standard.
Perhaps the greatest offense to
the public is that while we may all not agree with the philosophy
of abortion, every American citizen supports it. Through taxes
we sponsor the twenty-first century holocaust; by our silence
we become swallowed by the sweeping sea of political correctness.
